Holiday Food Mania!

So it’s that time of year again, where training starts to lag and we all start to give in a little bit to temptation…  No big deal!  We can get through this!  

Be conscious and plan where you’re going to splurge.  This way you don’t end up splurging too many times or having some of everything.  If you’re choosing to have pie or dessert, cut yourself a slice and then take only half of that.  You will be surprised on how we all misinterpret portion sizing and truthfully that smaller portion will satisfy you just as much and you won’t have that left over guilt after your splurge.  

Most importantly, do NOT stop working out!!! The holidays is not the time to lag on this.  Set reasonable day to day goals.  Go with a plan, and you will succeed.  If you’re going to be out of town, no worries!!  The best thing about running and sprinting intervals is that it can be done anywhere!  If you can’t make it to the gym for strength training at least you know you can get your cardio in.  

Sure you will feel pressure from your loved ones to cheat more and to skip your workout, but in the end when you’re all at the dinner table and you’ve accomplished what you set out to do, you WILL feel so much better about yourself and you will be able to enjoy that extra treat!!

WILLPOWER!!!!  Thats what it’s all about! And let me tell you it is something that I still struggle with…  But in the end when I meet my goals and succeed, it is all worth it!  I hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving and holiday season!!
